There is good news. God cares for us. He has come to save us, to deliver us from evil. God entered into our world of evil, of tears, of rejection, of pain, and of death. In Christ, God has come to us; identifying with us, dying for our sins, paying the price for our evil acts; dying our death; dying to solve the problem of evil.
The One who died on the cross rose on the third day demonstrating that He is greater than evil, greater than the devil, greater than death itself. The greatest evil ever perpetuated leads to the greatest triumph this world has ever known. At the cross there is victory over evil. At the cross there is victory over death. At the cross there is victory over Satan. “The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 4:4).
And one future day, the living Christ will return to earth as King of kings and Lord of lords. In the new heaven and the new earth, sin and evil are gone forever. The problem of evil will then finally and completely be resolved.
